The first part of this series spotlighted 20 Black-owned bookstores that keep our stories on the shelves. This second list widens the map with more shops across the country that deserve holiday dollars, gift card love, and year-round support.

1. Pyramid Art, Books & Custom Framing (Little Rock, Arkansas)

4. Eso Won Books (Los Angeles, California)

Eso Won Books is a legendary Los Angeles bookshop known for its deep selection of Black literature, history, and politics, and for hosting icons from Barack Obama to Toni Morrison over the years. Even as it has shifted away from a traditional storefront, the brand and its legacy continue to shape Black literary culture in L.A. and beyond.

5. Multicultural Bookstore and Gifts (Richmond, California)

Multicultural Bookstore and Gifts in Richmond offers children’s and adult books that reflect the diversity of the community it serves. The store’s shelves highlight Black, Latinx, Asian, and Indigenous voices, making it a go-to spot for inclusive reading and meaningful gifts.
