B.R.A.E IS BACK AND AIMS TO BE BIGGER THAN EVER!

What is B.R.A.E.? In short, it stands for Black Reader’s Appreciation Event, but this annual event means far more than the title. It is the time of year that Black authors worldwide come together to show readers (and potential readers) love by offering up to 5 of their book titles absolutely free. That’s right! You get to download your favorite authors or find new ones for FREE.
Founded by A.A. Lewis, it started as an enjoyable means ofgiving back to her readers. It has since transformed into a global connection between the Black writing community and readers. A.A. wanted to celebrate National Author’s Day by giving back to her loyal readers, so she decided to include other authors who may be willing to do the same. The mission is to foster a space of inclusivity, respect, and understanding where the diverse voices and perspectives within Black literature are honored and amplified.
This year, B.R.A.E. boasts to be bigger than ever, as A.A. desires to highlight more genres such as Sci-Fi, Fantasy, and LGBTQIA+, among others. She hopes to add audiobooks to the list for those readers who enjoy listening to the books just as much as they enjoy seeing the printed words. This crossover assists readers in getting to know the voices behind these prolific stories as they’re introduced to the wonderful world of Black narrators. The talent is endless as readers may get the opportunity to explore vets like Wesleigh Siobhan and JakobiDiem or learn of newer narrators like D. Lewis, Lauryn Nichols, Midnite Michael, Myles Washington, or Lacy Laurel, to name a few.
