Philadelphia Domestic Violence Conference Focuses on Awareness, Action and Advocacy

The Rosebuds Mentoring Program will host a three-day domestic violence conference in Philadelphia this October, bringing together young people, adults, advocates and community members for education, conversation and survivor-centered programming.

“Awareness, Action & Advocacy: Celebrating Survivors & Remembering Those Lost” will take place October 16 through October 18, 2026, with programming focused on domestic violence awareness, prevention, healthy relationships, community resources and the experiences of survivors.

The conference begins on Friday, October 16, with a Meet and Greet and Relationship Mixer at the Honickman Center, 1936 N. Judson Street, Philadelphia, PA 19121, from 6 PM to 8 PM. The opening event will give attendees an opportunity to connect while participating in conversations surrounding relationships, healthy communication and warning signs that can appear in unhealthy or abusive relationships.

On Saturday, October 17, Rosebuds Mentoring Program will host a full day of educational workshops from 9 AM to 4 PM at 1515 Market Street, Suite 215, Philadelphia, PA 19102. The Saturday programming includes workshops specifically designed for teenagers between the ages of 12 and 18, as well as sessions intended for adult attendees.

Youth workshops will address subjects including “Safety of Social Media While Being a Content Creator” and “Human and Sex Trafficking.” Additional discussions will focus on healthy relationships and other issues affecting teenagers as they navigate relationships, technology and social media.

Adult programming will cover a broad range of domestic violence-related topics, including stereotypes surrounding victims, the impact and effects of domestic violence within the disabled community, and intimate partner violence within the LGBTQ+ community.

One workshop, titled “The Effects of IPV in the LGBTQ+ Community and its Links to Depression, Anxiety, Suicidal Ideation and Substance Abuse,” will explore the relationship between intimate partner violence, mental health and substance use. The range of topics reflects the conference’s effort to address domestic violence across different communities and circumstances while creating opportunities for education that extend beyond general awareness.

The conference will conclude on Sunday, October 18, with an Awards Ceremony at the Honickman Center from 1 PM to 4 PM. The closing ceremony will recognize people working within the community to combat domestic violence and support survivors. The program will include the presentation of the Robin’s Voice Beacon of Light Community Service Award and will provide a space to celebrate survivors while remembering those whose lives have been lost to domestic violence.

Tickets are available for individual events as well as the entire conference weekend. Saturday workshop admission includes separate pricing for teen and adult attendees, while the Friday mixer and Sunday awards ceremony also offer individual ticket options. A three-day conference package is available for $125.

Early-bird registration ends September 16, and all registration is scheduled to close September 30.

Through “Awareness, Action & Advocacy,” the Rosebuds Mentoring Program is creating a weekend centered on education, prevention, survivor support and honest conversations about domestic violence and intimate partner violence. By including programming for both teenagers and adults, the conference also emphasizes the importance of beginning these conversations early, particularly as young people encounter increasingly complex relationships both in person and online.
